Zimbabwe gambling dens

[ English ]

The prospect of living in Zimbabwe is something of a gamble at the current time, so you may imagine that there might be little affinity for visiting Zimbabwe’s casinos. In fact, it appears to be operating the other way, with the atrocious economic conditions creating a bigger eagerness to gamble, to try and discover a fast win, a way from the crisis.

For almost all of the people living on the tiny nearby earnings, there are two common forms of gambling, the national lottery and Zimbet. Just as with practically everywhere else on the globe, there is a national lotto where the probabilities of winning are extremely tiny, but then the prizes are also very big. It’s been said by market analysts who understand the subject that most don’t purchase a card with an actual assumption of profiting. Zimbet is founded on one of the local or the English soccer leagues and involves determining the results of future matches.

Zimbabwe’s gambling halls, on the other foot, pander to the considerably rich of the country and tourists. Up until a short while ago, there was a very substantial vacationing industry, built on safaris and trips to Victoria Falls. The market collapse and associated conflict have carved into this market.

Among Zimbabwe’s gambling dens, there are two in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has 5 gaming tables and slot machines, and the Plumtree gambling den, which has just the slots. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has only slot machines. Mutare has the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, the pair of which offer gaming tables, slots and video poker machines, and Victoria Falls has the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, both of which have gaming machines and tables.

In addition to Zimbabwe’s gambling halls and the aforestated mentioned lottery and Zimbet (which is considerably like a pools system), there are also two horse racing tracks in the state: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the 2nd city) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Seeing as that the market has contracted by more than 40% in recent years and with the associated poverty and violence that has cropped up, it isn’t known how healthy the tourist industry which is the foundation for Zimbabwe’s gambling dens will do in the in the years to come. How many of them will carry on until things improve is merely unknown.
