There are many casinos in the state, the biggest number being on moored riverboats. The biggest of the Iowa casinos is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, a Native American casino in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of casino room, 1,500 slots, thirty table games, such as twenty-one, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and several styles of poker; as well as three eatery’s, biweekly shows, and casino advice. One more substantial American Indian gambling hall is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slot machines, and fourteen table games. Also, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slots, 36 table games, and four eatery’s. There are numerous other popular Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 one armed bandits, and 39 table games.
A smaller Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a riverboat gambling hall in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 one armed bandits, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend paddle wheel boat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. Another Iowa river based gambling den, The Isle of Capri, is open all hours, with 24,939 sq.ft., 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. water based casino in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live entertainment, and Thursday 21 tournaments.
Iowa casinos provide a fantastic amount of tax money to the government of Iowa, which has allowed the bankrolling of many commonwealth wide activities. Tourism has gotten bigger at an accelerated percentage along with the request for services and an increase in working people. Iowa casinos have been helpful to the expansion of the economy, and the excitement for gambling in Iowa is across the board.
